Total Body Exam

In addition to looking at your own skin periodically, the best way to detect early signs of skin cancer is to see your dermatologist for a total body examination or skin cancer screening.  Squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma and melanoma are the three most common forms of skin cancer.  Serious sequelae can be prevented by early detection.

If you are someone with a lot of brown spots and beauty marks, it is likely hard for you to keep track of them.  It is wise to see a dermatologist at least once to have a baseline screening examination.  After your doctor examines you, she will be able to tell you what kind of follow-up care you need.
